Our modern “perhaps more sedentary” living habits create tension and stress to the body, and as such when these accumulate over time, many of our common preventable conditions e.g. bursitis, sciatica, rotator cuff tear, tendinitis manifest. I am known to view and treat the whole body rather than focus on the injured areas. I work with patients to restore flexibility and strength they may have lost through long term inactivity, overuse, birth and/or trauma. I view physiotherapy as a preventative measure, much like a regular dental clean or a car service. Having the guidance of a physiotherapist to maintain muscle and joint health across the lifespan, is paramount in preventing patients from being stuck in recurring vicious cycles of pain.

All of us have a story to share. I believe we all can learn something from each other. I feel accomplished and delighted when I see my patients’ smiles again. I have worked in residential ages cares and private clinics helping lively school kids to immobile elderlies. I believe exercise is medicine and being able to move freely without any restrictions and pain is important. My special interests are return to work rehabilitation, post surgical & vehicle accident recoveries and elderly balance/resistance training. I am a certified Pilates Instructor - Rehab Level 1: Matwork and Reformer. I am also trained in Tung’s Acupuncture (Level 1). I listen well and is fluent in English and Chinese. I understand conversational Korean. I enjoy weight training, power yoga and playing the piano in my down times.

There are many groups of muscles in our body with each of their own part to play. When 1 group is underactive or overactive, our brain recruits other muscles to meet the task demands. These are compensations. Whilst temporary is safe, but ongoing can create other injuries and pain. Most patients seek physiotherapy treatments only when they are in pain but rarely take the time and effort to address the underlying drivers to their pain. I am passionate in addressing these muscle imbalances, hence I focus on clinical exercises in our treatments. I believe appropriate and timely muscle strengthening with coordination yields longer lasting results. I am also currently undergoing further training in Paediatrics Physiotherapy through a Masters Program at the University of Melbourne. I enjoy reformer pilates, yoga, board game nights and booking my next holiday.
