WHAT WE DO
Integrated care for your whole body, not just the part that hurts
At Above Physio and Acupuncture, Physiotherapy and Chinese Medicine Acupuncture are not two separate offerings. They are two lenses on the same body. Your practitioners talk to each other. Your progress is a team effort. And when something is not resolving the way it should, we look beyond the site of pain, because the answer is often somewhere else in the body entirely.
PHYSIOTHERAPY
Evidence-based physiotherapy with a special interest in musculoskeletal conditions. Our physiotherapists assess not just the site of pain but the movement patterns, compensations, and structural factors that created it. We do not just get you out of pain. We change the way you move so you stop coming back with the same injury.
We see patients for acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, spinal rehabilitation, post-surgical recovery, car accident and whiplash management, clinical exercise assessment, and long-term movement rehabilitation.
CHINESE MEDICINE ACUPUNCTURE
This is full-spectrum Chinese Medicine from a qualified Doctor of Chinese Medicine.
Lily holds a Master of Applied Sciences in Acupuncture as well as a Bachelor of Exercise Science (pre-physiotherapy) and Masters of Physiotherapy, and she is one of very few practitioners in Brisbane who brings both a western medicine Physiotherapy background and complete Chinese Medicine training to the same patient in the same session. She practises Dr Tan's Balance Method, Tung acupuncture, and Zhu scalp acupuncture, each with a distinct clinical application and each producing results that standard physiotherapy alone cannot replicate.
When patients hear the words Chinese Medicine Doctor rather than acupuncturist, something shifts. They say: I did not know that existed here. That is exactly the point.
